Showfront Museum Display Cases Protecting Australian Firefighting History at the Penrith Museum of Fire

As a nation prone to bushfires, it comes as no surprise that Australia’s firefighting services are crucial emergency responders that save hundreds, sometimes thousands of lives each year.

In celebration of Australia’s firefighting heroes, the Penrith Museum of Fire was founded in 1975 as a Not for Profit and charitable organisation that has since become home to a collection of historically important firefighting items, many of which are listed on the State Heritage Register.

The museum is primarily administered by current and retired firefighters of all ranks and supported by critical professional staff and volunteers who have worked to create an educational, interactive and exciting fire display for visitors of all ages.

To continue this important work and preserve these pieces, The Museum of Fire reached out to us in need of new museum display cases that would permit further growth of museum displays & infrastructure and, help aid research capabilities to the benefit of the public and assisting Government agencies.

For more than 25 years, Showfront has been a leading Australian manufacturer of custom display cabinet solutions, helping museums all over the country; it’s our business' bread and butter.

We’re passionate about preserving and conserving precious collections, so we jumped at the opportunity to support the display case needs of the Museum of Fire without hesitation.

We were delighted to contribute to such a worthy cause, not just to craft incredible museum display cases, but to assist the Penrith community.

The team at Showfront was initially approached by the Museum of Fire in 2017, where we were tasked with manufacturing eight new museum display cases.

Happy with their purchase, the museum sought us out again this year for more customised museum display cabinets to rehouse some of their older collections and grow the fire exhibit further.

Our Showfront team handcrafted the museum display cases, including security locks and eco-friendly cool LED lighting, and delivered them fully assembled to the museum, ready to be installed. This included custom  TPFL1200, CTSL1200CBDL600TUC2400, DMANQ1600S and CTC1800 cabinetry.

Collection Manager and Curator, Laura Anderson worked closely with us to help bring the vision of the museum exhibit to life.

“Showfront’s professional cabinets illuminate what would otherwise be considered an old, dark powerhouse building in which the Museum of Fire is based. They transform the exhibition space and  highlight our heritage fire pieces.”

Client satisfaction is our ultimate goal, and we are so pleased that the Museum of Fire was impressed with their new museum display cases.

As Australia’s home to all things fire, the upgrades to the museum exhibit cases have provided Penrith with a world-class display for tourists and locals to see the historically significant collection.

As specialist manufacturers of museum display cases, we’re proud to support local museums in conserving such remarkable cultural and historical artifacts for everyone to discover. This drives our business, and it’s why we only create premium-quality display cabinets to ensure the best experience for viewers and optimum security for the museum.
