Memories of Time Gone By: Showfront Cabinets at Eumundi Museum
Eumundi Museum celebrates memories of time gone by with brand new Showfront Museums display cabinets.

Situated in the middle of town, across the main street from the famous Eumundi Markets, the Eumundi Museum is an enclave of the area's rich history and a popular tourist destination for those visiting the Sunshine Coast.

The museum showcases stories, photographs and artifacts ranging from the times of the traditional custodians - the Kabi Kabi people, and more recent events such as the construction of the major railway line and the large timber, dairy, agriculture and sugar cane industries.

Relying heavily on volunteers, this museum is a show of true passion and commitment from the community and a valuable asset for Eumundi's legacy for locals and tourists alike; therefore, we were very excited to be a part of the renovations.

The museum was closed for a period of time as it underwent extensive renovations but reopened on May 31st this year, with a fresh experience for visitors and new Showfront cabinets to accompany it.

Longevity and security were of the utmost importance for this project, so when consulting with the museum's representative, Joe, we ensured that everything would have a place and be protected for future generations of visitors.

"I happened across Showfront at the AMaGA conferences. My first was at Launceston, then Sydney, then Auckland. So, when I was managing the exhibition overhaul at Eumundi, I remembered Showfront and rang up to see what the team could do," says Joe.

With an emphasis on Australian manufacturing and high-quality craftsmanship, we knew Joe was our kindred spirit.

In total, we fulfilled an order of 7 cabinets consisting of:

1 x TSF 600 tower display case with storage

5 x CTC 1500 treasury display cases

1 x CTC 1800 treasury display case

Local Kabi Kabi ancient indigenous artifacts are displayed in a Showfront display case at the Eumundi Museum.

"The Showfront cabinets are themed as part of our long-term displays. They display stone tools from the traditional owners of the land, as well as pieces from the town's early settlers, such as hand-forged vehicle tools, a set of gold scales, a hairpin, some tobacco tins and cutter etc.

"There are also a range of farming tools and equipment, as well as old phones, cameras and postcards on display. Once we complete stage two of the renovations, we will also be putting objects and medicines from the old private hospital on show in the remaining cabinets."

Both Joe and the wider Eumundi Museum community were chuffed with their new display cases and have had a very successful first month since the museum's reopening.

Vehicle tools and communication materials are put on show at the Eumundi Museum in a Showfront display case.

The team at Showfront are proud to have been a part of such an important project, and we look forward to working with the Eumundi Museum again in future.
